How to add items in the Inventory tab?

Purpose

This guide explains how crew members can add items to rooms in the Inventory tab of the Ops App. Inventory is organized room-wise, allowing crews to record detailed item information accurately under each respective room.


Prerequisites

  • A crew login account has been created.
  • The crew has received valid login credentials (username and password).
  • The Ops App is installed on the device.
  • A job is assigned to the crew.
  • The survey has been completed, and survey details (items) are available, as inventory items are displayed under the rooms created during the survey.
  • At least one room has been added in the Inventory tab.

Step 1: Log In to the Ops App

  • Open the Ops App on your device.
  • Enter the provided username and password.
  • Tap Login.
  • After successful login, you will be directed to the Dashboard.

Step 2: Open an Assigned Job

  • From the Dashboard, locate your assigned job.
  • Tap the Open button located at the top left of the job ticket to open it and start working.
     

Step 3: Access the Inventory Tab

  • Navigate to the Inventory tab within the job.
  • Inventory is displayed room-wise, with all items listed under their respective rooms.

Step 4: Add Items to a Room

  • Select the required room from the Inventory list.
  • Tap on the Add Items option.
  • The Add Items screen will open.

Step 5: Enter Item Details

On the Add Items screen, fill in the following information:

Select Item Type

  • Tap the Select Item Type field.
  • A list of available item types will be displayed.
  • Select the required option using the radio button.
  • Tap Confirm to finalize the selection.
                                      

Item Name

  • Once the item type is selected, the Item Name is auto-populated.
  • You can edit the item name if required.

Add Photo

  • Tap the Upload button below the photo icon.
  • Choose to either:
    • Take a photo, or
    • Upload a photo from the device.
  • Up to 5 photos can be added for each item.

Barcode

  • Add the item barcode by:
    • Scanning the barcode, or
    • Manually entering the barcode number.

Dimensions

  • Enter the item’s length, width, and height.

Volume

  • Enter the volume of the item.

Weight

  • Enter the weight of the item (in kilograms).

Value

  • Enter the value of the item (in dollars).

Materials

  • Tap the Materials dropdown.
  • Select the materials used to pack the item by checking the box next to each material.

Step 6: Add Item Conditions and Exceptions

Conditions

  • Tap the Condition field to add item conditions.

Exception

  • Select the Exception field to choose from options such as worn, scratched, torn etc
     .

Location

  • Specify the location of the exception on the item.
    Example: Scratched at the right corner
     

Add Condition

  • Tap Add to save the condition.
  • Multiple conditions can be added if required.


Step 7: Add Handling Information

  • If required, tap the Handling Info dropdown.
  • Select handling instructions such as:
    • Fragile
    • Do not tilt
    • Handle with care
    • Valuable etc
       

Step 8: Save the Item

  • After entering all item details, tap Save Item.
  • The item will be saved and displayed under the selected room in the Inventory list.

Step 9: View and Edit Items

  • Saved items appear under their respective rooms.
  • Crew members can:
    • Add more items to the room
    • Edit details of existing items as needed

Adding items to rooms in the Inventory tab helps crew members to:

  • Maintain accurate, room-wise inventory records
  • Capture detailed item information, images, and conditions
  • Track volume, weight, and value efficiently
  • Improve accuracy and transparency during job execution
