Overview

This document explains the Truck management functionality in RedSky. Using Redsky you can manage the details for your trucks as well as track the key expirations on trucks.  The trucks which are no longer in service can be deactivated as well if required expirations e.g. tag, DOT inspections, etc. are past then also these trucks cannot be selected till the renewals are entered.

Untied or Mayflower branded trailers which are fitted with SkyBitz can be tracked based on dispatch information which is sent by UniGroup systems and displayed both pictorially on a map or as a list.

Truck Management

The overall goal of Truck Management functionality in RedSky is to manage the truck and trailers for each warehouse.

Trucking Ops:

Local Operations -> Trucking Ops: Manage trucks and trailers available for hauling operation including managing safety parameters.

Truck List:

Below is the sample truck list.  Using ‘Add’ button at the bottom, trucks can be added in RedSky.

In the detail page, you enter truck details including registration details, tags, inspections, axles, etc.

You can also put key expiry conditions e.g. State Inspections, Tag Expires, insurance, etc.  If you mark these as required then they will not be assigned to work tickets if the expiry date is past.

You can also add details of drivers associated with a truck and trailers associated with a truck

Default Driver:

Default drivers can be assigned to the truck. So when this truck is selected specifically in the domestic screen, the default driver which is selected as primary defaults, and other drivers can be selected from the list.

If no default driver is selected, any driver can be selected.

Default Trailer:

Default trailers can be assigned to the truck. So when this truck is selected specifically on the domestic screen, the default trailer which is selected as primary defaults, and other trailers can be selected from the list.

If no default trailer is selected, any trailer can be selected.

Driver Location

This functionality is limited to SkyBitz fitted assets for United and Mayflower trucks only as this works of the Dispatch XML sent by UniGroup systems to RedSky.

Operations ? Driver Location will display the truck locations using Google Maps for the USA.

Clicking the letter icon will show you details of the trailer with the volume available and the last reporting date/time. Typically, the SkyBitz device transmits location only when the trailer is in motion every 20 minutes after the trailer starts moving.
